Party Nails!

I think i must be very very late to the sparkly nail products out there, i just didn't think they would work and be to hard to put on. Well, all that has changed! I found these in boots and as the Colour Show ones were on 3 for 2 i thought why not. I sometimes get very frustrated with nail varnish, I'm not the best at putting it on and it annoys me when a brand new nail varnish is (technical term...) 'Gloopy' and streaky. Just why make nail varnish like that?! grrr. Anyway, the two barry M varnishes, although being two very different colours are fantastic, one coat and thats all i need. It dries really quick and nicely. The almost gel finish means they are super strong and with a good top coat last 4 or 5 days without a chip (amazing for me). The colour shows are basically clear nail varnishes with small sequins in- but! - it is soooo effective i am surprised how good and easy to put on these are. My favourite has got to be the purple, white and blue one over the red barry M.

Please tell me whats currently your favourite nail varnish in the comment box below and thanks for reading. I feel like i am finally getting back into blogging, which makes me so happy =D

Festive candles and decorations

Hi! I thought i would share with you what above the fire looks like! I just couldn't resist the little fox on the right, he was £3 from The Range. The white stag and tea light house was from Wilkos for £8 each. The house reminded me of the home button on my blog, so i just had to get it! The big candle in the middle i bought last year from Next for £10, it has three wicks which i like as it burns evenly. The little candle is the latest purchase, it came in a set of yankee candles which are all christmas scents. It just looks so cute and smell lovely.

Thank you for reading, let me know which is your favourite from the above!

New Sofas!

Hi there! We waited ages and ages for the sofas to arrive, we got two, they look the same just ones a smidgin smaller so i just thought i would show you the bigger 3 seater (Declan was sitting on the other one anyway and i didn't think he would appreciate being moved or having a close up!)

Ive forgotten what its called, but its on the homepage of Sofa works. I went with the grey as it goes very nicely in our red lounge and if we did want to change the colour it wouldn't clash.

The floor lamp was from B&Q for £79 in the sale, i love this lamp, it has so much style.

The throw was from Dunelm for under £10 and its so soft and snuggly, perfect for chilly evenings. The yellow cushions were also from Dunelm for under £8 each, they feel really good quality for the price, i just love this colour to go with the grey sofas. The other cushions i bought from John Lewis and i actually bought these before we ordered the sofa i loved them so much! They were more expensive but I'm hoping they will last for a long time as they are feather ones. The furry one is just a great size to make me sit up straight when I'm on my Mac for hours, like i am now!

I hope you like it, we have waited a long time to have a sofa that is new so I'm so very happy with them.

Thanks for reading, do share your links below and i'll go take look!

Christmas Makeup

Excuse the paleness, i took this last night before i went to bed so my face is a little shiny... i just wanted to share what I've been obsessed for most of the last month!

First things first... eyeshadow, i picked this up from boots. Its from lovely L'oreal, these shades are perfect for this time of year when i like to wear a little sparkle. Its so easy to blend the shades to create that smoky sparkle eye that everyone wants! I do find i need to add quite a lot on to build it up but once its on it really stays. Ive been wearing it in the day time too with just the darker shades and the highlighter shade.
Ive never bought the Kate lipsticks before, but i thought i would give them ago since I've heard amazing things about them. I have mixed feelings on this one to be honest, don't get me wrong i still really like it-its a fantastic strong colour and moisturising on the lips so i don't need anything on top too. But, i don't know whether its just me been cack handed but i cannot for the life of me get this to stay on my lips! It ends up everywhere! It just smudges too easily and i would be worried about having a Miranda face issue if i was to wear it on a night out...which is a shame as do love this colour. Have you tried it? Let me know if you have!
Apocalips! Now, i have fallen in love with this. Its another product i have been meaning to try but just haven't got around to buying it. Its quite thick in consistancy which i think makes it easy to put on- a quick swoop of this and your lips transform. Its a beautiful colour and matches the Kate lip stick so i have been adding this on top to add that extra shiny. I have a weakness for lip products especially red ones! I was a bit worried it may look a bit much with it been quite dark but... i like it a lot. I will probably buy another shade, do any of you have a favourite?

Thanks so much for reading and please leave a comment.

Christmas Tree Decorations

Evening lovelies, this year i decided we needed a theme for the christmas tree decorations. So after searching many many shops, yesterday i think I've found some cute ones. Mostly, i think the theme is woodland creatures, with a bit of red and silver. Which isn't really a theme is it?! Looks nice though!

We popped to The Range today, haven't been there before as the closet shop is about 40 mins away, but i found it great for cheap decorations. Everything was a couple of pounds each in there...went a bit crazy on the cute animals didn't i...

A couple of things were from Dunelm, the deer i think was, the set of dotty ball balls and hearts. Very similar decorations are in Wilkos which is where i bought the battery lights from at £3! Bargain. Smiles all round. I just need to get some chocolate coins.

I can't wait for Christmas!

Thanks for reading, please don't forget to add me on twitter and leave a comment if you'd like to.

A cold November morning

A big Welcome back to you lovely people who haven't lost all hope for more posts from me! I have been rather busy, and slightly lost the blogging feeling. Didn't take long did it. It wasn't because i got bored of writing, just sometimes i don't think i have that much to post about, that i may not be the best i can be. That annoys me, and so i just haven't done anything. Which, is lazy. But, i am back, i promise. Ive just taken lots and lots of pictures, so I've got to put them somewhere haven't i?!

Last weekend, as my parents were away we (the royal 'we') checked in on their doggie, Millie. This is a treat for me as i grew up with her and we don't have a dog. We got her as tiny puppy when i was about 14 and i took her to puppy classes and agility, so she's very special. I just love this time of year, the mornings are bright and crisp with magical sunlight.

*walks in sheepishly* ...

Hi, as you may of noticed I haven't been keeping up with blogging everyday, oops! Well, my excuses are that we had a very busy week last week and today I started a full time job! Yeay! So I think that is a good enough reason to have a week off, isn't it?!

Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will be posting tomorrow - Saturday.

My new schedule from now on will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays and if I manage to post any extra, then think of it as a special treat!

Day 3: Shampooheads!

Hiya lovelies!
This is a post for you mummies out there!

I recently won a competition to win some children's bubble baths, the company sent me the three bottles above. I thought I would tell you about this relatively new brand which does hair and body care products for children, as my son loves these. Their website can be found here: www.shampooheads.com  They can also be found in some Boots, Waitrose and Chemists (you can check on their website where they stock).

First of all the packaging is bright and engaging for children but simple at the same time so I know exactly what it is and what scent it is which make it easy to spot in the supermarket. These bubble baths are priced at £2.99 each on their website and are made in the U.K.

We were given 'Raging Rosie-Strawberry', 'Awesome Annie-Tropical Fruit' and 'Busy Bob-Blueberry'! They are all 500ml bottles. The scent of these are amazing, they are so fruity! I think my favourite is the Blueberry one, it smells like real fruit. As they are children's bubble baths they bubble up great - I only put a tiny bit in and got lots of bubbles which is fab. They are also 'Tear free' - which is must for children and they are Hypoallergenic.

They are really worth the money and I would buy they when we run out - these are going to last us awhile!

Hope you enjoyed this little post today as part of #blogtemberchallenge ! Go take a look at others which are taking part in the challenge too.

Thanks for reading,

Day 2 :What makes me happy

Hi, so day 2 of the #blogtemberchallenge and the question is what makes me happy?

Everyone has there ups and downs throughout their days or weeks but generally I am quite a happy person, I try to look to the positives when moments are hard and not let things get to me. I love the simple things in life which make me smile and content in my life. I'm quite a over thinking person and this can be both great at times but can make me quite a worrier! So remembering happy things helps me get over the negatives.

Here's a list of things that make me happy:

- Tea in the morning
- eating scones
- sitting down all together for a Sunday lunch
- going for a walk and taking our son to the park
- looking back at photos and videos of our son, me and my partner. Especially the ones of us on holiday in Cyprus.
- swimming in the sea and snorkelling to watch the fish (this doesn't happen everyday!!)
- sunny, relaxed weekends in the garden
- going for a fast bike ride around the lanes
- family parties, dancing, music and lots of laughter
- Christmas - everything about it is magical and I love how close the family is at this time of year.
- cosy fires, hot chocolates and snuggles
- singing
- blogging
- watching my nemo fish do their crazy swimming
- bunnies and piggies
- spending the day on the beach and getting sea hair
- being engaged to my first love
- having a lovely home
- going for family trips out
- completing my degree in Education
- taking pictures

Hopefully that gives you a little bit of an insight to what makes me happy! Ofcourse there are many many other things. What makes you happy?

Thanks for reading!

Blogtember challenge!

Evening, this is rather late and not a good start is it?! I have been meaning to do this post all day but just haven't got around to do it. I've been sorting uniform out and bags and packing lunch, ready and all organised for tomorrow! I'm trying out the Blogger app on my iPad so if it turns out rubbish I do apologise and I'll do it on the PC next time!

So the #blogtemberchallenge can be found: http://www.braveloveblog.com/2014/08/the-blog-tember-challenge.html?m=1

It basically means I will be (fingers crossed!) be blogging everyday for the month of September. I will try my best to bring you good quality posts- they will be a mixture of the ideas on the list from the challenge and my own posts. I think this will bring more of my own ideas to the challenge. Hopefully the challenge will get me into blogging more regularly at the end and I'll get into more of a routine of when I'll be posting. I'm planning on doing a mixture of posts so they will be different and interesting- some will be chatty/ life related and others will be a specific topic or product (beauty/fashion) related. Also I thought it would be the perfect time to put more into blogging as my son is starting school tomorrow it will give me something to focus on over the next month.

If you would like to join in will the challenge please follow the link above on my home page there is a button to the post. Outfit of the day: Red lips and precious jewellery

Hey, hope you are having a lovely evening. I thought I would treat you and give you another post tonight!

This post will be about my outfit I wore today and jewellery which means a lot to me.

If you have read my previous post then I have all of that make up on apart from I have Rimmel Alarm lipstick on instead. This lipstick is sooo vibrant it's great!

My necklace is a very much treasured piece of jewellery as it was from my lovely other half, it holds very special memories. It is a Disney Couture Tinkerbell and she's sitting on a pearl. I haven't worn this in a very long time as I usually keep it for special occasions now but I thought it would look great with my outfit today.

My bracelet is Vivienne Westwood which was given to me as a '1st year been together gift'! It is so simple in design but just beautiful with the sparkly bow.

It seems such a long time ago now when we got engaged, I think it must be because we had our son just before, and he is 4, so a lot has happened since then! We went to choose the ring together at the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, if any of you have ever been there, it is amazing, it's just basically a whole town of jewellery shops. It has rubies around a diamond on a gold band and I just love this ring so much. The second ring I always wear was a birthday present also from my partner last year when we were on holiday in Cyprus. It is a band of sweet little hearts with diamonds set in them. These rings represent so much! My nail varnish is Liz Earle and I will be doing a separate post on it soon.

This is the finished look, which I hope you like as I loved it today. I think it looks a bit 80's inspired but with my own personal style. I have a shirt tied in a double knot from Asos and a black lace skirt which I bought in the sales from H&M years ago. I have on Ann Summers fishnet tights and ankle boots from Riverisland.

Maybelline: Big Eyes, Baby Skin, Baby Lips Electro

 HI!
I have never been that much of a fan of Maybelline until I tried the Baby Lips so when I saw they had a three for two offer on and the new Baby Electro was included I thought why not!
I got them for £12 from boots.

Pictured first is the large end of the mascara which is for upper lashes, and below is the small wand for lower lashes. This is a great product and really does make my eyelashes more defined, longer and thicker. The only downside with having two wands in one product is that you get a smaller amount of mascara in the main end compared with an ordinary mascara. However this really wouldn't put me off buying it again. Before using this I was using the Soap and Glory mascara and this Maybelline one is so much better and gives my eyelashes more thickness. I was really impressed with this product.

Next up is the Baby Lips electro, well what can i say, this colour is just amazing! It goes on lovely like a lip balm but you can build up the colour so it becomes really vibrant too. I am obsessed with this!

And heres my weird lips...yeah, moving on!

This is the Baby Skin, which a lot of people have not liked! I have got to confess I never tried the original one as I'm not a huge lover of primers. They make my foundation feel strange, but this one, when used sparingly does actually feel nice and it does make my make up last longer and keep it in place. However I must say I can't really see any difference once I put it on my skin, maybe I have too much to blur! What do you think of this product? Have you tried it and do you get on with it? I would be interested to know.
To top my lips off I usually use Max Factor Infinity (I think that's what it is) It works kind of like a lip gloss / balm. This works really well with the baby lips I've found.
This is the finished look, what do you lovelies think? I am loving bright lips at the moment!

Fun Iced Biscuits!

Afternoon all, I made these cute iced biscuits with my son this afternoon and I thought I would share the simple recipe so you can try them yourselves! I'm not an expert and these are just a bit of fun!

Ingredients:

100g / 3 1/2 oz Unsalted Butter
100g / 3 1/2 oz Caster sugar
1 egg
275g / 10 oz Plain Flour
1 tsp Vanilla extract

Icing Sugar
Food colouring of your choice

 What to do:
  1. Put oven on 190 C
  2. Cream butter and sugar in bowl
  3. Beat egg and vanilla extract. Add this a little at a time to bowl.
  4. Stir in the flour.
  5. Roll out dough to 1cm thick, use a cutter of your choice, small ones usually work better for biscuits.
  6. Cook for 10-12 mins -this does vary depending on how big your biscuits are, little star shape cutters are nice to use, I just couldn't find mine so used a scone cutter.

Leave your biscuits to cool and then you can decorate them, always the best part for children!
I use about 400g/14 oz of icing sugar mixed with a couple of drops of water to make the icing. Mix it well then add some food colouring. I use a teaspoon to add the icing and added sprinkles before it set.

And that is it, they taste great and are quick to make!

Home haul: Kitcheny bits!

Hi lovely people! I thought I would show you our new kitchen table and other bits I bought to go with it.

The table is a small square shape with rounded off edges and can be found here from Argos. This one was on special offer for £80 and has a dark top. I've been looking for a smaller table for awhile as our kitchen is quite small. The chairs are very cleverly designed so that they all neatly fit under the table, the seats are like a triangle, with the point meeting in the centre. This is a great table for someone who needs to save space but still needs three or four spaces at a table.

I'm forever breaking and chipping plates, we had our old ones for years so I thought it was time for a pretty set. The teal plates can be found in Next as part of a set of 12 which included dinner plates, small plates and bowls. These were £39. I just love this colour in the kitchen and the little heart is a cute touch.

I bought these glasses from Next too as the 'You, me and the Sea' themed glasses match the blue nicely, plus I love the sea...! Theses glasses were around £8 for two. I have just had a quick search on the Next website and I can't find them so I think they may have stopped doing them, with their new ranges coming in.

These glasses were a set of six for around £9 and once again Next must of stopped selling these already which is a shame as they are lovely! Similar ones can be found here.

The water jug above is in the matching range of 'You, me and the sea' from Next. (Can you spot the theme here guys?!). I can't remember the price on this but I have a feeling it was quite expensive at around £12. It's perfect for chilling water in our fridge-it tastes so much better when it's cold! I know you can get these style of bottles pretty much everywhere at the moment and I'm sure you could pick one up from you local supermarket for cheaper.

The table cloth (also from Next!) was £18, similar ones can be found here. This is wipe-able and a must if you have young children! But I love them as they add a bit of pattern to the room.
The table mats came as a set for £12. They are reversible, which is great if you have small people that like to stain things with spaghetti! Also they are grey!- I am a bit obsessed with having grey and pink together! A similar set is here.

Lastly I bought these cute colourful candle holders which have LED flickering lights in them. I find them great for adding a bit of decoration and colour to the table and they have been lovely to use outside in the evening.

Of course it's getting to be more like winter now! So I'll be doing a little living room haul with a more of a autumn/wintery feel, probably at the end of September.

I really do hope you like this post and it gives you some inspiration. I want to say thank you so much to all of you that are reading my posts, honestly it feels so great that people are reading and commenting on things they love too. Please keep reading as I have lots of exciting post coming soon and add me on @bloglovin too.
